A typical flower industry traceability application would have Visidot deployed to provide a vendor of plants for professional growers operating service centers throughout the world with complete, global traceability. This would cover a very large number of reusable container assets ? from growers, through distribution centers, retail stores and all the way down to individual flower and plant trays.

Dollies, RPCs, trays, pallets and any other reusable asset may be tagged with durable or in-mold barcode

(1D) or Data Matrix (2D) labels, or with ImageID proprietary ColorCode tags. Visidot reader gates deployed at the plant vendor?s depots and complemented by handheld scanners, rapidly capture images of inbound and outbound flower and plant tray deliveries. Data instantaneously decoded from these images enables tracking of internal container processing cycles (such as cleaning and storage), assurance of proper association of flower and plant GTINs (Global Trade Identification Numbers) with container GRAIs (Global Returnable Asset Identifiers), and reliable shipping verification backed by visual, image bank archived proof of product condition.

Locally-deployed Visidot SCT servers aggregate and communicate captured data to headquarter Visidot SCT servers, which may seamlessly be integrated with existing back-end ERP systems. The Visidot SCT Central software application, which runs on headquarter Visidot SCT servers, provides a truly global view of floral product and reusable container processing transaction history and inventory levels. Traceability records may be viewed and managed in real time through any Web-based station connected to the flower vendor?s corporate network, but may also be shared with supply chain partners and customers as a service.

At the end of the day, Visidot enables flower and plant suppliers to maintain complete traceability, while enhancing overall process accuracy and efficiency, and drastically reducing inventory shrinkage, shipping errors and manual labor costs.
